Is Merlin AI Legit? I Bought It to Find Out [December 2024 Merlin AI Review]

AI tools are a dime a dozen right now. Everyday it seems like dozens of new tools come to market bbut most are little more than stripped down versions of the major language models like ChatGPT (literally using the OpenAI algorithm in most cases). 

Someone told me to try out Merlin AI.

“It’s different, it’s a Chrome extension and you can chat with websites.”

So, I grabbed a lifetime license I figured what the heck, worst case scenario is that it stinks and I’ll just blog about how people shouldn’t buy it.

But that wasn’t the case. Not at all. 

Is Merlin AI Legit Though?

✅ Merlin AI Is Legit

The AI space is loaded with scammy products and offers, but Merlin AI is not one of them. I dug deep into them and it’s clear that they have been around for awhile and have an extremely large user base that is thrilled with the product.  

The chrome extension (which is the biggest selling point of the program) has over 1,000,000 users and a mind blowing 4.8 stars. 

I’m not sure how familiar you are with google Chrome extension reviews, but most people use it as a venting board when something goes wrong, not to praise a tool for being great. 

A 4.8 with that many users is beyond impressive. 

Here are a couple of reviews that stood out to me. 

Almost every negative review was related to a temporary glitch caused by a 3rd party website (LinkedIn being the most common mentioned) changing their UI and impacting Merlin’s ability to read it.

Merlin’s team replied to all of these reviews, making it clear they really do have a serious support team that cares about their customers. 

So yes, definitely a legit tool and a legit company. 

Merlin Uses

Merlin’s potential is as limitless as your imagination, but here are the main mechanisms behind the tool. 

#1 Chat “With This Page”

This is truly what sets Merlin apart from everything else and the biggest reason I use it. It brings the AI tools you use onto web pages and let’s you interact with almost anything.  

Here’s an example of a possible use. 

It works particularly well with sites like YouTube and can provide summaries, transcripts and key takeaways from any video.  

#2 Chat with Document

I use this quite a bit. You can upload a PDF and ask it questions. I do this often with full length books I find online. 

#3 Generate Images

I can’t stress enough the fact that Merlin’s web app replaces most of the subscriptions you already pay for.

 The only downside is they don’t yet have Ideogram supported.

#4 All Common Chat Requests

Anything you’re doing with ChatGPT, Gemini or the like can be done with Merlin, because it literally uses their APIs.
